چکیده

Abstract Background Acetaminophen overdose is the leading cause of acute liver injury (ALI) and failure (ALF) in developed world. We aimed at studying therapeutic potential bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) accelerating healing acetaminophen-induced hepatotoxicity. Results This prospective study included 50 male albino rats divided into 2 groups: hepatotoxic group non-hepatotoxic group. Hepatotoxicity was induced experimental by acetaminophen then were transplanted their effects on assessed. After injection BM MSCs, reached targeted tissues. They established central veins blood sinusoids tissue. The showed degeneration loss normal hepatic architecture as well necrotic areas congestion mainly portal tract vessels, dilation sinusoids, infiltration inflammatory around veins. In addition, there abnormal nuclei either irregular shape or showing open face compared to control tissue MSC-treated restoration Conclusion Administration MSCs has hepato-therapeutic effect hepatotoxicity rats. mechanism this hepatoprotective may be through anti-inflammatory, anti-apoptotic, immunomodulatory actions MSCs.

Protective effect of Phlomis cancellata hydroalcoholic extract on acute acetaminophen-induced hepatotoxicity in male rats

Background and Aims: Acetaminophen is a common anti-analgesic and antipyretic medication that in high doses leads to liver and kidney necrosis in humans and animals. Phlomis cancellata, from the mint family, is a plant that has antioxidant properties. In the present study, the hepatoprotective effect of Phlomis cancellata hydroalcoholic extract on acetaminophen-induced hepatotoxicity in rats wa...

Regenerative Effect of Bone Marrow-derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells in Thioacetamide-induced Liver Fibrosis of Rats

The present study determined the regenerative effect of bone marrow-derived stem cells (BMSCs) on thioacetamide (TA)-induced liver fibrosis in rats. A total of 30 male Wistar rats were randomly divided into sham control and treatment groups. The rats of the sham control group were subdivided into three groups and sampled on the 14th, 18th, and 20th weeks after fibrosis induction. The rats of th...

Effect of Viola Extract on Acetaminophen-induced Hepatotoxicity in Mice

Introduction: Acetaminophen is a common analgesic that is toxic to the liver in the case of high dose and antioxidants such as herbs can partially inhibit the harmful effects of high dose of such substances. Materials and Methods: In this study, 42 mice weighing 25-30 g were randomly divided into six groups (n=7). The first group as the control group received 1 ml/kg (0.5 ml/kg 12 hours apart)...
